Summary of the two days of the II Sustainable Destinations Summit
The second edition of the Sustainable Destinations Summit came to a close with closing remarks by Special Advisor to the Secretary-General on Sustainability, UNWTO, Isabel Oliver Sagreras and Rosa Ana Morillo Rodríguez, Secretary of State for Tourism, Spain.
The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera stated that:
"The tourism sustainability of which we want to be a reference implies the necessary balance between tourism activity and the well-being of residents and workers, care for the territory and the environment, respect for the culture and the local product.
Tourism in Mallorca goes beyond a sectorial policy, because it involves environment, coexistence, infrastructures, territory, economy, transport, and in this we are working in this community, with pioneering laws, regulating excesses and betting on quality and not on volume, working so that tourism adapts to Mallorca, hand in hand with the tourism industry".
The second Sustainable Destinations Summit
closed with the announcement of the third Sustainable Destinations Summit
