Aniol Esteban is the director of the Marilles Foundation, a marine biologist and environmental economist.
He has dedicated his professional career to improving the environment in areas as diverse as economics, education and the design of campaigns and projects. As director of the Marilles Foundation - a philanthropic initiative for the conservation of the Balearic Sea - he works to make the Balearic Islands a world leader in marine conservation.
In recently published articles and interviews he argues that marine and coastal conservation should play a key role in Spain's economic recovery and the future of the tourism sector. He proposes a Blue New Deal, an investment programme to get out of the post-Covid crisis by investing in the conservation of our sea and coast.
