A meeting to bring the Mallorca PID closer to the tourism sector
Consell de Mallorca, through Fundació Turisme Responsable de Mallorca, will hold next Friday, 10 April, the Meeting with the Tourism Ecosystem of Mallorca, an event designed to bring the Mallorca PID project – the Intelligent Destination Platform – closer to the entire tourism ecosystem of the island.
Following its presentation at FITUR 2026, this meeting represents a key step in the platform’s deployment, aimed at showcasing its scope and capabilities while fostering the involvement of the main tourism stakeholders in its implementation.
The event will take place at the Hotel Palma Marina and will gather representatives from tourism companies, public administrations, sector associations, the academic community and other key actors within the tourism ecosystem.
A platform to drive smarter tourism
Mallorca PID is conceived as an advanced technological infrastructure that will enable the efficient integration, analysis and use of tourism data, helping to improve public management, optimise territorial resources and strengthen the destination’s competitiveness.
It is a strategic tool to move towards a tourism model that is smarter, more sustainable and better aligned with the real needs of the ecosystem, promoting data‑driven decision‑making and enhanced coordination between public administrations and the private sector.
The platform is structured into different functional modules linked to key areas of the destination, such as mobility, visitor flow management, accommodation, resource management and the digitalisation of tourism assets.
Training and activation of the tourism ecosystem
The conference will include an institutional opening and will address the strategic framework of the project, its development so far and the main capabilities of the platform.
In addition, the meeting will serve to encourage stakeholder involvement in the upcoming development phases and to present the training and sector activation plan, which will include specific training sessions tailored to the different profiles within the tourism ecosystem. The aim is to facilitate understanding and use of the platform and support its progressive implementation.
A project framed in the national strategy
The project forms of the deployment of the Smart Destination Platform promoted by SEGITTUR, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain, financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU funds. This initiative places Mallorca in a strategic position to advance in the digitalisation of tourism, strengthen the sustainability of the destination and consolidate itself as a benchmark in the intelligent management of tourist destinations.
