The Consell de Mallorca and Green&Human will carry out a collaboration strategy for the development of joint projects. In addition, all actions follow the sustainable development objectives (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda as a fundamental reference for compliance.
Green & Human was born from the commitment to accompany and help companies in the sector that share a common purpose: to promote a sustainable tourism model.
The Councilor for Transition, Tourism and Sports of the Consell de Mallorca, Andreu Serra, and the president of Green & Human, Ginés Martínez, have signed an action protocol according to which the island becomes one of the most important destinations to be part of this entity that promotes sustainability in the tourism sector.
It is worth noting that Green & Human represents 80 companies in the tourism sector. All of them with the common goal of transforming and investing in initiatives aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the destination and how to attract higher quality tourism that is responsible for the natural environment and the territory. Jumbo Tours, Hyatt Leisure Group and Viajes El Corte Inglés are among its members.
Areas of collaboration
The Consell de Mallorca and Green & Human will collaborate specifically in three major areas.
On the one hand, in promoting the normalisation of the transformation towards the sustainability of companies and destinations, within the framework of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
On the other hand, promoting sustainability, promoting the exchange of experiences and networking to favour the improvement of sustainability skills.
And finally, efforts will be shared to jointly develop transversal transformation projects to generate a multiplication of the impact of sustainable initiatives.
